The first annual Craft Lake City Festival will take place on Saturday August 8, 2009 from 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. at the The Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City. This event will be FREE and open to the public.
This outdoor alternative arts festival will showcase over 80 vendors specializing in handmade goods such as: silk screened posters, progressive crafts, DIY designs, reconstructed clothing, knitted items, jewelry, letter-pressed books and more. Affordable prices and original, artful pieces will be emphasized in every merchant’s booth.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the day and will include: vendor demonstrations, street performers and local musicians.
Inspired by national craft festivals such as the Renegade Craft Fair and the Bazaar Bizarre, Craft Lake City will prove to be an exciting festival—showcasing crafters from all walks of life for shoppers of all-ages. Craft Lake City is the first of its kind to hit the Wasatch front.
Whether you are head of your homemaking night or an emerging DIY artist, Craft Lake City is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the local handmade community.

Bijou Market
I was thrilled with my success at the Bijou Market. I never dreamed that I could sell 6 paintings and all but two birds at a 6 hour boutique. Thank you to all who came and supported the local artists and who enjoyed and purchased my goods. I am still working on my Etsy shop, hopefully it will be open this week. Gotta go make some more stuff now.

Beehive Bazaar
The show is over, and I am exhausted. So much work, so much great food, I'm pretty sure I gained 10 lbs. in three days. I am so grateful for my girlfriends, I love getting to spend these three days side by side. The anxiety of exposing myself to swine flu and trying to give customers the correct change is all worth it. We have a tradition of going out for a late dinner after the last night of the show and we just laugh so hard and tell stories about some of the crazy customers, like the lady that helped herself to an entire cupcake of Steph's and said she thought it was a sample. (WHAT?????) Looney tunes!
Good news for me, I completely sold out of the paper mache birds, bad news for you if you didn't get one when you had the chance. A big thanks to the SLC blog "Your Heart Out" for spotlighting my goods. If you missed out, don't worry, I will be making more and selling them on Etsy. Stay tuned I'll let you know when I get it up and running.
I sold a few dollys and I used a couple to trade for some great items that I really wanted from other vendors. There are 2 large and 1 small still available.
The paintings sold very well, I only have a few left, check my gallery page HERE to see what's still available. I have a beautiful restaurant that has requested some, so I'll let you in on that when it is a done deal.
My bird boxes that I just love love love did not do as well as I hoped, I hate being wrong! I am putting the small one in Isabelle's room, it looks darling in there. I have three large ones still available. Maybe they were just too large or expensive for a show like this, or people just didn't know what to do with them. I still believe in them!!! Maybe I will make some smaller ones and try again. Any feed back you have would be appreciated.
Also, a big shout out to my friends/swimming buddies of Motley Handmade, their booth was a huge hit! Good job ladies!
